In the "2024 Forbes China · International School City Selection," Hongrun Boyuan ranked 67th nationally, 22nd in Shanghai (including public school international divisions), and among the top 5 in Shanghai for AP curriculum systems.
On June 10, 2025, Forbes China officially released the results of the 2025 International School Annual Selection, where Hongrun Boyuan School was once again honored as a National TOP 70 school. This evaluation covered bilingual and international schools across China from kindergarten through high school, comprehensively assessing the current state and future trends of international education in China. The core evaluation revolved around five dimensions – Academic Achievement, Teaching Quality, Basic Information, International Accreditation, and Innovation & Multidimensional Development – utilizing over 40 quantitative indicators to comprehensively assess more than 3,000 schools and divisions nationwide. The final selection identifies honorees across various categories, providing an authoritative reference for Chinese families choosing international education.
On July 15, 2025, Hurun Education, the international education platform under Hurun Report, released the "2025 Hurun Education · China International School Rankings," where Hongrun Boyuan was ranked National TOP 71 and Shanghai TOP 20 (including public school international divisions). This marks the sixth consecutive year Hongrun Boyuan has been listed among the Hurun Education National Top 100.
Rupert Hoogewerf, Chairman and Chief Researcher of Hurun Report, stated: "The schools on this list can be considered the most experts-recognized international schools in China. During the selection process, we primarily employed a peer review method, inviting over 60% of the principals and senior leaders from schools listed in the previous edition, alongside numerous experts in China's international education field. Additionally, we referenced the methodology of the Hurun Global High Schools Rankings, incorporating graduate destinations, extracurricular activities, and school reputation into the assessment criteria, with their weighting increasing from 10% in the previous period to 20%. Our rationale for using peer review is primarily based on the following considerations: currently, these international schools are generally still relatively young, with an average founding time of just 20 years, and a relatively small number of graduates and alumni. Therefore, we believe professionals within the industry have the deepest understanding of each school's true level and strengths. A distinctive feature of the peer review is that experts also comprehensively consider factors such as the school's faculty strength and curriculum system, pay high attention to the school's future development potential, and are generally more optimistic about the school's future prospects."
General Principal Bowen Chen and Foreign Principal Christopher Moses were invited to attend the Hurun Education International Elite Schools Luncheon. Principal Bowen Chen was awarded the title of "International Education Leader" by Forbes China and was invited to share insights. Principal Christopher Moses participated as a guest speaker on stage, joining leaders from Shanghai Wellington College, Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong, and International School of Nanshan Shenzhen to discuss cultivating globally-minded young entrepreneurial talent.
