SHANGHAI, October 2025 – The "Education, A Better Convergence – 2025 International School Expo & Honors Ceremony," hosted by Shanghai Media Group's International Communication Center (SMG International), successfully concluded on October 18th at the Shanghai CITIC Tower.
This grand gathering of Shanghai's international educational resources saw Hongrun Boyuan School gain significant recognition for its unique educational practices. Principal Chen Wenguo accepted the honor on stage and later engaged with the media, offering profound insights into the school's educational ethos.
The ceremony brought together educators from 56 renowned schools and over 600 parents to explore the future of education, complemented by an online live broadcast that attracted more than 236,000 viewers. Amidst this prestigious assembly, Hongrun Boyuan School distinguished itself, highlighting its steadfast commitment to personalized education and holistic student development.

A Personalized Approach: The "Truly Personalized Course Schedule"

When sharing his reflections on the award and the school's philosophy during the media interview, Principal Chen Wenguo first elaborated on Hongrun Boyuan's signature "Truly Personalized Course Schedule" system. "Initially, students themselves design curriculum based on their entry-level assessment and their personal interests," Principal Chen explained. "This schedule is then dynamically refined through a collaborative process involving the academic office, course teachers, the students themselves, and their parents, taking into account diagnostic test results, daily classroom performance, and homework completion." This system ensures that each student's curriculum is precisely tailored to their evolving academic abilities and needs, thereby maximizing their potential for rapid growth and fostering a genuine love for learning.

Cultivating a 'Sense of Ease': The Foundation for Intrinsic Motivation

Discussing the school's consistent success in university placements, Principal Chen introduced a key element of the school's environment: a "sense of ease." He firmly believes that "outstanding results are a natural outcome when students genuinely enjoy the learning process in a relaxed and supportive setting." He clarified that this valuable "sense of ease" is not about a lack of structure, but is carefully cultivated through a beautiful campus environment, dedicated support from psychological counselors, and the sincere care provided by homeroom teachers and all faculty. This approach is underpinned by the school's core belief: when students feel supported and trusted, their intrinsic motivation flourishes, leading naturally to academic achievement and satisfying university admissions outcomes.

Becoming Your Unique Self: Rejecting Unnecessary Competition

Principal Chen concluded by emphasizing the school's community values. "Our students come from diverse backgrounds and families, but they all share a common belief in our philosophy: to become your unique self," he stated. The school actively discourages blind comparison and unnecessary academic rivalry, focusing instead on a strong partnership with parents to help each student discover their unique talents and interests, ultimately paving their own individualized path to success. This philosophy resonates deeply with the core themes of the ceremony, which championed returning to the essence of education and respecting individual differences.
The recognition at the "2025 International School Expo & Honors Ceremony" stands as a significant endorsement of Hongrun Boyuan School's educational model. Through Principal Chen's detailed sharing, the school's vision of student-centric and nurturing education was clearly articulated, offering a valuable perspective for families seeking a personalized and holistic educational alternative. While the grand event has concluded, Hongrun Boyuan School's commitment to empowering every child to "become their unique self" continues to unfold in inspiring new chapters.
