Griggs China warmly congratulates Mr. Wenguo (Bowen) Chen, the Principal of Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School, a Griggs China affiliate school, on being awarded the "the 2025 Forbes China Outstanding International School Principal Award"!
Recently, the 2025 Forbes China International School Principal Awards Ceremony was grandly held at the Forbes China headquarters in Shanghai. Principal Wenguo Chen of Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School was awarded the "2025 Forbes China Outstanding International School Principal Award" for his in-depth practice, innovative ideas, and industry influence in the field of international education. Graham Earnshaw, Chief Strategy Officer of Forbes China Group, presented the award to him personally.
Mr. Earnshaw emphasized that this year's selection process involved over a hundred candidates, and ultimately 30 outstanding principals were selected. The evaluation system was systematically developed around four dimensions: "Educational Capacity", "Management Capacity", "Educational Outcomes", and "Industry Influence", aiming to comprehensively assess the principals' overall performance in terms of ideological leadership, governance effectiveness, student cultivation, and industry promotion, setting a high-quality benchmark for international education.
This award not only represents a high recognition of Principal Chen's personal achievements in educational management but also serves as an authoritative endorsement of Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School's international educational philosophy and educational achievements.
Adapt to the individual
and cultivate accordingly,
with a vision that extends far
beyond the present.

Principal Chen's recent accolade is a testament to his unwavering commitment and forward-thinking, pragmatic approach to international education over the past three decades, which aligns perfectly with the Forbes Awards' ethos of "innovation, responsibility, and leadership." As a seasoned professional in the education sector, Principal Chen has always held the belief that "what suits best is the best" as his educational philosophy. In his educational practice, he adheres to the core mission of "cultivating happy creators with a strong Chinese foundation and global responsibility." He firmly believes that the essence of education lies in awakening individual potential rather than standardizing it. Throughout his tenure, he has consistently prioritized student growth, emphasizing individual differences and development paces, and providing a diverse range of learning options and support systems to ensure that education truly serves the holistic and long-term development of each student.

This concept of "education tailored to individual aptitudes" not only reflects the focus on individual students but also extends to a global perspective on the educational landscape. During the roundtable discussion at the Forbes China International School Principals' event, Principal Chen stated, “Education should first guide children to 'become adults'. Through a large number of student-led activities and social practices, we help students discover themselves and clarify their career directions, thus leading a life that they truly feel happy about. When learning shifts from external demands to internal motivation, efficiency will significantly increase. I believe that true success lies in getting children into a positive cycle." Subsequently, Principal Chen, centering on the theme of "International Education in the New Era: Globalization Reform Enhances School Business Model Innovation," and based on his visits to schools in the Philippines, Vietnam, and other countries, pointed out that the educational development in some regions still lags behind the times. He advocated that young educators in China should broaden their horizons globally, bringing China's advanced educational concepts, teaching methods, and management experiences to participate in the educational revitalization of these relatively resource-poor areas. This is not only a cross-cultural practice of the essence of education but also an important step in promoting the internationalization of China's educational experience.
Empowerment in Diversity,
Linking Growth

Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School has established a student-centered, diversified education system that systematically promotes the transformation of educational concepts into practical achievements. As an authorized school of Griggs and the College Board of the United States, Hongrun Boyuan has developed a unique high-quality education system. With American high school and AP courses as the main axis, it has created over 100 multi-dimensional courses of varying difficulty levels. Through a tiered and flexible class system, the school enables "courses to follow students", allowing each student to fully tap into their inner potential based on their interests, abilities, and aspirations, and independently plan their learning paths.
In terms of campus culture and comprehensive development, the school provides professional development channels for students with artistic and sports talents through the "Double Excellence Curriculum"; cultivates students' collaboration and innovation abilities by relying on interdisciplinary projects; and broadens students' global perspectives by connecting them with international educational environments through winter and summer camps and overseas exchanges. These measures collectively form an educational ecosystem of "diverse empowerment and linked growth", enabling students with different traits to find development paths suitable for themselves and achieve comprehensive and personalized growth.
Under this nurturing system, students have achieved remarkable growth. In recent years, graduates have successfully been admitted to renowned universities both at home and abroad, including top 30 universities in the United States and the G5 universities in the UK. Students have frequently achieved outstanding results in various academic competitions, art performances and sports events. They have not only made breakthroughs in their studies, but also developed a sunny and confident personality, a willingness to share and a global perspective. These real and vivid growth stories are the best testimony that Principal Chen's philosophy of "what suits is the best" has taken root and borne fruit in the school's practice, guiding students to move forward towards the distance.

Conclusion
Looking to the future, under the leadership of Principal Chen, Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School will adhere to its vision of "Inheriting the spirit of architecture, building a harmonious home, and drawing a blueprint of humanity", remaining true to its educational mission and continuously enhancing the quality of student cultivation. The school will, with a more resolute educational passion and more pragmatic innovative actions, actively explore the Chinese path of international education, empowering each student to grow into a future talent with both a sense of national responsibility and an international perspective, and assisting them in pursuing their dreams on a broader stage.
