American education has become a cornerstone of talent cultivation in international schools. Prestigious American universities encourage young people to pursue their passions, embrace new experiences, and push their boundaries through challenges, ultimately achieving holistic development. Growth extends beyond academic excellence into realms outside the classroom—through scientific research, community engagement, and athletics, students cultivate resilience and strengthen their leadership, creativity, a spirit of adventure, and critical thinking. This is why American-style international schools, with their commitment to whole-person education, often provide a more advantageous platform for students aspiring to study in the United States.

As a curriculum provider deeply rooted in the American educational tradition, Griggs is a steadfast practitioner of this philosophy. We not only integrate "holistic education" throughout our curriculum design but also, through our flexible American high school system, build a bridge for Chinese students to step onto the world stage.

The effectiveness of this approach has been strongly validated by over a decade of international education practice in China. Countless Griggs students in China, grounded in solid academic abilities and empowered by rich practical experiences, have collectively received admissions from over 200 world-renowned higher education institutions globally, including the University of Chicago, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Claremont McKenna College, University of Toronto, University College London, University of Melbourne, Waseda University, EHL Hospitality Management School Lausanne, University of the Arts London, and many more. This ever-expanding map of acceptances is not only a vivid testament to the personal growth of Griggs students but also powerful evidence of the global recognition and educational effectiveness of the Griggs curriculum system.

A Century of Legacy:

Bridging Cultures, Connecting Worlds

Behind these remarkable achievements lies Griggs' profound understanding of, and century-long commitment to, the essence of education. Over one hundred years ago, educational pioneer Mr. Frederick Griggs envisioned to bring learning to people everywhere. Today, with the establishment of Griggs China, this vision is benefiting an increasing number of Chinese students.

Since the establishment of Griggs China in 2017, Griggs Education has entered a new phase of development. Through in-depth partnerships with schools across the country to implement the American high school curriculum, Griggs remains committed to crafting international education solutions that meet global standards while addressing local needs. Our curriculum possesses exceptional flexibility and adaptability, allowing for precise adjustments based on the positioning and actual requirements of different partner schools. It maintains the academic rigor of American curricula while fully respecting the characteristics of Chinese local culture. Our partner schools are diverse in type and positioning; we do not pursue a "one-size-fits-all" model. Instead, we insist on helping schools retain their unique character and traditional foundations while integrating international programs. We believe that truly excellent education retains its essence even in integration—creating the most suitable growth path for students and cultivating future talents with global competence.

Partner schools can choose from different collaboration models based on their needs:

  • Griggs Full Diploma Program: Build a complete American high school system.

  • Griggs Dual Diploma Program: Serve as a powerful supplement to existing academic programs (such as national curricula or other international programs).

Regardless of the chosen model, partner schools must fully embrace the Griggs educational philosophy and strictly adhere to the curriculum implementation procedures to ensure high quality teaching and comprehensive student development.

Griggs Full Diploma Program

The Griggs Full Diploma Program follows the internationally recognized Carnegie unit credit system. Unlike traditional high-stakes testing models where a single exam determines outcomes, Griggs' cumulative assessment approach provides a more authentic reflection of each student's learning journey, fostering consistent progress and leading to successful diploma completion.

The program spans three/four years, with English as the primary language of instruction. ESL courses are offered as non-credit compulsory subjects alongside the core curriculum. Students can choose their pathway based on their future goals:

  • Complete 25 credits to earn a College Preparatory Diploma.

  • Complete 21 credits to earn a Standard Diploma.

Course offerings encompass Mathematics, Science, English, History, World Languages, Technology, Business, Fine Arts, Health, Character Development, and a variety of electives. Additionally, students are required to complete 20 hours of community service annually, putting into practice the Griggs key values of Dignity, Honor, Respect, and Integrity.

Griggs Dual Diploma Program

The Griggs Dual Diploma Program is designed to offer students the dual advantages of a "local + international" education. While continuing to study their home school curriculum (whether their national curriculum or another international program), students complete a supplementary set of Griggs core courses to earn an American high school diploma.

Typically, students need to complete 6 Griggs courses to obtain a Griggs Standard or College Preparatory Diploma. Depending on their individual study plans, students can take 1 to 3 courses per year, accumulating credits progressively. The Dual Diploma model not only enhances students' academic competitiveness but also provides a broader platform for applying to universities worldwide.

Special Programs

In addition to the American high school curriculum, Griggs offers a diverse range of learning programs designed for students of different ages to support their holistic development:
