On the evening of June 10, the U.S. Embassy in China held a grand celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence on its premises. Mr. Harry Lee, Chairman and CEO of Griggs China, attended upon invitation.

The embassy was festively decorated, brimming with a joyful atmosphere. Flags of many nations hung high in the venue, creating a colorful, solemn, and spirited ambiance. The band played light and cheerful melodies that soothed the soul.

The corridors and multiple exhibition areas featured audiovisual materials commemorating the 250th anniversary of American independence, with vivid visuals and engaging presentations that attracted many guests.

A variety of food and souvenir stalls were neatly arranged, filling the air with the aroma of delicious food and the sound of laughter and chatter.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., invited representatives from various countries in Beijing, along with Chinese and international guests, began arriving. People gathered in small groups or accompanied by companions, strolling through a sea of joy, chatting and laughing, exchanging well-wishes, and celebrating this significant occasion together.

At 7:00 p.m., the host announced the official start of the celebration. The embassy's tri-service honor guard marched in, and representatives of the embassy staff sang the national anthems of the People's Republic of China, "March of the Volunteers," and the United States of America, "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Subsequently, U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue delivered a warm and enthusiastic speech. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the Chinese government officials attending the celebration—including Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaoxu, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Ren Hongbin, and Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Ma Hui—as well as to diplomatic representatives from various countries and Chinese and international guests. He reviewed the history of American independence and the path the nation has steadfastly followed.

Finally, he invited Vice Minister Ma Zhaoxu to join him in a toast, wishing the American people happiness and health to all.

As the celebration gained momentum, the U.S. Pacific Air Forces Band took the stage, performing a series of diverse musical pieces. The notes flowed through the summer evening breeze, instantly igniting the enthusiasm of all present, immersing everyone in a sea of joy and laughter.

The event not only offered a wide variety of American specialty foods and beverages but also brought generous gifts from American companies such as Tesla, Universal Studios, and numerous toy and food companies for attendees to collect. Guests savored authentic delicacies and drinks while participating in interactive activities, leaving with full hands and joyful smiles.

At 9:00 p.m., the host announced the official end of the celebration. However, many guests remained, lingering in conversation and engaging warmly. Whether it was a reunion of old friends or a first meeting of new acquaintances, the warmth and significance of the event continued into the night. As the evening deepened, the bonds of friendship remained, leaving behind lasting memories.
