Ms. Jeannie Leiterman, Associate Principal and Registrar of Griggs headquarters in the United States, is making a special trip to China from August to September 2026 for a month-long tour including school visits, teaching evaluations, and teacher training. The purpose of this visit is to engage deeply with Griggs’ partner schools across China, gain a comprehensive understanding of the actual implementation of the Griggs program at the local level, and conduct systematic inspections and provide guidance on teaching preparations, curriculum design, and management processes for the new academic year. She will also offer full-scale professional support for each school’s opening preparations. Jeannie's visit not only reflects the great importance Griggs headquarters attaches to its China programs, but also underscores its consistent commitment to safeguarding educational quality and driving continuous program improvement, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and robust implementation of the Griggs educational system in the new academic year.

First Stop: JIA, Hainan

On August 3, 2026, Jeannie arrived at Hainan Jingying International Academy (JIA) in Lingshui, Hainan, China, marking the first stop of her China visit. Given that JIA is a key new partner project that recently joined the global Griggs network, Griggs headquarters places high importance on this collaboration and has included it in the core agenda of this year’s global routine school inspection tour. To fully demonstrate its attention to and support for new projects, the headquarters specially designated JIA as the first stop of the China inspection tour. This arrangement not only highlights the trust and high expectations Griggs headquarters holds for emerging partner schools but also enables the headquarters team to engage deeply from the very inception of the project, gain on-site understanding of the school’s operating conditions, communicate development needs, and lay a solid foundation for subsequent systematic support and quality assurance. Through this in-depth first-stop research, the headquarters can more efficiently tailor school-opening support plans for JIA, ensuring a high-quality implementation of the Griggs educational philosophy and standards in this new environment.

Introduction to JIA

As the sole Griggs affiliate school in Hainan, JIA adheres to a dual-track education system centered on the national curriculum standards while integrating Griggs’ international curriculum resources at the senior high school level. While solidly implementing the national curriculum standards, the school introduces Griggs’ century-old holistic education philosophy and high-quality international educational resources, striving to cultivate future talents with Chinese roots, a global perspective, and lifelong learning capabilities.

Official Working Meeting

On the afternoon of August 4, Jeannie, together with the Griggs China team—including Mr. Joe Yan, Director and Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Lisa Kerr, Academic Director, and Mr. Rob Kerr, Teaching Specialist—held a formal working meeting with the core management team of JIA, led by General Principal Wenquan Du.

Flagship School Strategic Positioning

During the meeting, Jeannie clearly stated that the professional standards and management efficiency demonstrated by JIA during its preparatory phase have already reached a leading level within the Griggs global system. Based on this, Griggs headquarters has officially decided to position the school as a Global Flagship School. In the future, Griggs and Griggs China will provide JIA with systematic, priority-level support in areas such as academic resource allocation, joint teacher training, localized curriculum development, and the expansion of international exchange channels, helping it become an exemplary school within the entire Griggs global partnership network.

This strategic decision means that JIA will no longer exist merely as a regional affiliate school but will be directly embedded into the core network of Griggs global educational innovation. JIA will be entitled to participate in the co-construction and iteration of the Griggs global curriculum system while providing Chinese students with a genuine growth pathway that is synchronized with, mutually recognized by, and interconnected with world-class educational resources.

JIA’s Response and Vision

At the meeting, Principal Du of JIA fondly recalled his connection with Griggs over a decade ago and his first meeting with Mr. Stephen Rivers, Griggs’ Affiliate Director. He expressed sincere respect for Griggs’ position as a pioneer and leader in global holistic education and its persistent pursuit of practical excellence. He also specifically highlighted the visionary foresight of the Chairman of Jingying Group in making the strategic decision to pursue a long-term, comprehensive, and in-depth collaboration with Griggs, and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust and support consistently extended to JIA by Griggs headquarters and Griggs China.

Principal Du stated that JIA will spare no effort in engaging in deep academic cooperation with Griggs, jointly building a holistic education system rooted in China yet equipped with an international perspective, setting a new benchmark for international education in Hainan and across China.

Griggs‘ Outlook

Looking ahead to the new academic year, Griggs’ headquarters and Griggs China will continue to leverage the global education network to provide JIA with sustained and stable professional services in key areas such as academic oversight and support, teacher empowerment, and joint curriculum development. During the remainder of her tour, Jeannie will also visit other Griggs partner schools in China, ensuring through systematic evaluation and on-site guidance that Griggs educational standards are consistently implemented in every partner school across the country.

We firmly believe that with the start of the new academic year, the development of the Griggs global education system in China will advance to a new level of higher quality and greater resilience.
